Governor Chris Christie supports a brand new Jersey casino expansion referendum, but it is not so popular with voters that will have the say that is final November.
New Jersey casino expansion has the backing of numerous state that is key including Governor Chris Christie (R), but unless the majority of Garden State residents help bringing casinos north, Atlantic City will preserve its gambling monopoly.
A poll that is recent by the Rutgers-Eagleton Institute of Politics found that just 44 percent of voters feel that casinos should be allowed in jurisdictions outside of Atlantic City, while 49 percent believe gambling should remain on a the southeastern beachfront metropolis.
That is a contrast that is stark earlier polling that suggested New Jerseyans preferred ending Atlantic City’s gaming exclusivity.
Along with selecting a new US president in November, voters in nj will be challenged with determining whether to amend their state constitution to permit the construction of extra gambling facilities in northern counties of the state.
